Homemade Pop Tart Recipe

With Valentine’s Day approaching, I thought I would share the easiest and sweetest recipe…

  • Ingredients for HOMEMADE POP TARTS!
  • 1-Jam of your choice
  • 2- Ready-to-bake pie crust (2)
  • Bake @ 400 degrees for 13-18 minutes (or until slightly brown on top)

(Topping- Milk, vanilla extract, confectionary sugar, crisco). No measuring necessary— I eyeball the amounts and stir until I get the consistency I want… (Who’s with me on this? Can you tell I’ve made a lot of baked goods?)

Parchment paper- for easy clean up!

Now…when I made these the first time, I cut out cute little shapes and made the pop tarts look “perfect”. Nahhhhh…that’s a waste of time. Your kids (or really anyone) will gobble these up so fast, who cares?

Check out the stage of events that lead to HOMEMADE POP TARTS!

Ingredients: 2 ready-to-bake pie crust, jam of your choice.
I roll the pie crust out, just a bit.
Then, spread the jam…evenly-ish.
Plop on the other crust (looks like pizza here…not sure what to think? Keep scrolling 😉
Cut. Don’t overthink it. You are busy
(and most likely distracted by lego-talk with your kiddo…)
Don’t get fancy. Just press with fork, gently.
Take out of 400 degree oven after 13-18 minutes.
Pop tarts should have slight browning on top.
Yum
Oh goodness. These are pretty yummy and about 210 calories per tart as seen above.
But if you want to add frosting, see next photo…
Mix and spread out the topping and sprinkles to finish…
Enjoy! ❤

I like simple recipes for early morning baking. These took me about 10 minutes prep time and 13 minutes (in my oven) to bake. I whipped up the frosting in about 5 minutes (was a bit lazy and didn’t even use a mixer, so add on 5 minutes to that since I needed a step stool to reach the food coloring and sprinkles 😉

I waited about another 5 minutes to cool some down (I sliced some pop tarts in 1/2 to cool faster). So within about 35 minutes this was a start to finish breakfast hit!

Thank you for checking out this recipe! Let me know in the comments below if you would make these or if you have already!! Have a happy Valentines Day! ❤ Hannah

DIY Valentine Gift Idea.

A thought…

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I thought I would share with you how I am showing love and appreciation this Valentine’s Day.

I got this idea online, so I can’t say it was all my idea…

Create…

This is a great idea for kids and adults! Starting February 1st, create 14 hearts (or grab some heart shaped sticky notes). For every day leading up to Valentines day, write something that you love about your Valentine.  It can be something big or small- written in a paragraph or just a few words. Leave one heart a day in a place where your Valentine generally goes.

Appreciation goes a long way…

Have a happy Valentine’s Day!

Cheers! ~Hannah
